What do A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Madame Butterfly have in common?

The enduring female and her hope in attaining everlasting true love.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream commodifies love with a potion that achieves the same effect as the real sensation. Can love last without a drug?

Set in 1940’s Shanghai in reference to the stereotype of the subjugated enduring female and the archetypal submissive Oriental beauty. Enter Hermia on the evening of her first wedding anniversary to Lysander. This multimedia movement piece was conceived as a commemoration of Shakespeare's 400th death anniversary.
